Linda Heinzelman has been known for her intelligent designs featuring strong clean lines that blur the boundaries between traditional and modern. Her design philosophy features a refined use of materials especially antiques from differing periods, bespoke pieces and sophisticated color pallette. “I create timeless interiors that will look great 10 years from now.”
“When I begin a project I start by standing in the room and visualizing exactly how this room will be used. A beautiful room that is never used hasn’t been designed correctly.”
Linda Heinzelman studied at the Parsons School of Design and started her career in her hometown of New York City. When Linda expanded to Westport, CT, she noticed a need for a new look to accommodate more sophisticated designs that still reflected the rural surroundings. Her clients from New York wanted homes that could accommodate children and a lifestyle that included entertaining. Linda coined her new style “Formal-Country”.
Linda’s versatility is shown in the extensive client list that range from elegant New York apartments to sprawling family homes, beach houses, executive offices and small hotels. Linda scours the flea markets of Paris twice a year looking for unique pieces to bring to her projects.
Her work has been featured in W Magazine, Westport Magazine, Home and Garden, WRG Homes, and is a contributor to local and national stories on design.
